For over 30 years, MENTOR Virginia has fueled the expansion of youth mentoring across Virginia. We work closely with mentoring programs to help them build their capacity to provide high-quality mentoring relations to young people ages 8-24.
Mentor Training: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
This session is specifically designed for mentors to enhance their skills and effectiveness in guiding and supporting their mentees. During this 90-minute workshop, participants will engage in interactive exercises and discussions focused on best practices for mentorship, including effective communication, goal setting, and providing constructive feedback. Our expert facilitators will share strategies to build strong mentor-mentee relationships and address common challenges faced in mentoring.
Mentee Training: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Following the mentor training, this session will cater to mentees, equipping them with tools and techniques to maximize their mentorship experience. Mentees will learn how to set clear objectives, communicate their needs, and actively engage in their development process. This workshop will also cover how to leverage mentorship for career growth and personal development, ensuring that participants can make the most out of their mentoring relationships.
Both sessions are designed to be complementary, ensuring that mentors and mentees are well-prepared and aligned in their roles. We look forward to a productive day of learning and development.
